Talk about slimy. If one cannot win an election you can as a lame duck, pass laws reducing the powers of the office where your opponent is replacing you. As described in the Washington Post, this is happening in both Wisconsin and Michigan now.
Why should this be allowed? What about a law that prevents politicians changing the powers of any office taking effect in less time than the length of one term for that office?
Another reason we need the Referendum Amendment, allowing laws passed by the People on the National level.
